Ugen Lopsang

I got chance to visit Linkoed Matsang gonpa at beautiful village matsang, Pakyoung.  It is said that the monastery has been shifted from Lingkoed Village to matsang, the present site i.e. Matsang and re-established in the year of 1860 A.D by a Lama known as “Lharib Dawa” who named it “Linkoed Matsang Rinchen Tse Gonpa". The Lamas rebuilt the present monastery in 1982 due to structural damages caused by an earthquake. However, it was remodeled in 2005 with government aid and renamed as “Pathing Matsang Rinchhen Tse Gonpa” since the monastery is  located on a small hillock of Matsang village within Pathing area. The original monastery at Lingkoed was founded by a Lama called Drubwang PemaTsondu. It belongs to Nyingmapa Sect of Buddhism. Today it has become one of the major monasteries in East Sikkim and functions all the  ceremonies with annual mask dance annual fest known as 'Gumpa Mela' during winters where the character named 'Acharey' was the center of attraction...

  Today is World Water Day it is observed on March 22 every year to highlight the importance of freshwater and make people aware of why it is important to save water. In 1992, the United Nations (UN) had adopted the resolution A/RES/47/193 and declared that March 22 will be celebrated as World Water Day every year. This year, the theme for World Water Day is "Valuing Water" and "a conversation about what water means to you". The theme of World Water Day 2021 is “Valuing Water” and has been chosen to highlight the value of water in our daily lives. Let's save and wisely use water as needed. World Sparrow Day World Sparrow Day. Every year March 20 is observed as World Sparrow Day to raise awareness about the bird. The need for marking this day was felt due to the tremendous decrease in its population. The house sparrow is on the verge of extinction. The initiative was started by Nature Forever Society (NFS) of India, founded by Mohammed Dilawar, an Indian conservationist.  He started his work helping the house sparrow in Nashik. He was also named one of the Heroes of the Environment for 2008 by Time magazine for his efforts.  The first World Sparrow Day was celebrated in 2010 in different parts of the world.  Increased use of pesticides, change in the pattern of buildings and gardens missing from the houses have become the main factors why the number of sparrows has declined sharply in the past few years.  #WorldPhotographyDay2020 World Photography Day is celebrated so that people around the world can communicate their feelings and express themselves through the art of photography. The whole idea behind the day is to hold discussions about photography and encourage those who want to pursue photography as a hobby or career. At the same time, on this day the pioneers who inspired others to take up this skill are remembered for their contribution. It is said that the origin of the day lies in the invention of the Daguerrotype, a photographic process which was developed by Frenchmen Lois Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce in 1837. According to reports, on January 9, 1839, the French Academy of Sciences made an announcement regarding the Daguerreotype. After 10 days, the French government got the patents and said that this invention was a gift to the world, without any copyright. Once again Very Happy World Photography Day

It is said about Nepal that every other structure is a holy shrine every other day of festival. Mata Tirtha Aunshi (मातातीर्थ औंशी) falls in the month of Baishak (April). This festival falls in the time of dark moon's time, so it's called Mata Tirtha Aunshi. Mata means mother and Tirtha means pilgrimage, in this way it's called Mata Tirtha Aunshi. This festival is observed in the commemoration and respect of the mother. The festival is also known as ‘Aamako Mukh Herne Din’. The literally translation of 'Aamako Mukh Herne Din "the day to see the mother’s face”. A day to go for the pilgrimage of one’s mother. The festival of mother’s day as it is the day the children express their love and gratitude to their mothers. It is the day to make your mother feel important and loved. And other peoples who lost or passed away  their mother, they go to worship Mata Tirtha place which is located in Kathmandu.

Thank you so much Kerala friends to include me for the Onam fest,  the cultural  fest of Kerala.  I really enjoyed the taste of Kerala. Onam is the most popular annual harvest festival in Kerala and is celebrated with great pomp and show. It is believed to be the National festival of Kerala. Onam is celebrated every year in then month Chingam. which according to the Malayalam calendar is the first month of the year called Chingam. Which is falls in August or September. The festivities of the Onam last for ten days in which all age groups are participate with equal enthusiasm. The word Onam is believed to have been originated from the Sanskrit word Shravanam which in Sanskrit refers to one of the 27 Nakshatars or constellations. Thiru in South India is used for anything associated with the Lord Vishnu and Thiruvonam is believed to be the Nakshatra of Lord Vishnu who pressed the great King Mahabali to the underworld with his foot.

We still feel shy/uncomfortable to suggest others regarding the safe use sanitary napkin. Most the population are still unaware of such kind of safety measures specially in rural areas.  We are ignoring all these. it's just our ignorance, but now we are in the digital era, so we should upgrade our mentality. As per the research report says, Almost 79% women don't have an access and awareness to hygienic menstrual practice. A lot of girls don't go to school as they are not aware that how to maintain a healthy menstrual practice. 70% women suffer from urinary tract infection every year just because of unhygienic practice.
